Huey's location to close for renovation

Huey’s Southwind will shut its doors on Halloween for a remodel.

Located at 7825 Winchester Road, the burger joint will remain closed for a week to 10 days for updates to its bathrooms, kitchen and bar area. The inside will also be repainted, and TVs will be added to the patio.

“Huey’s Southwind opened back in February of 2003. It is now 13 years old and needs some updates,” said Lauren McHugh Robinson, president and CEO of Huey’s Restaurants. “We will be making some cosmetic changes, as well as remodeling the restrooms from top to bottom, moving a server station to add more seating at the bar, refinishing the bar top and doing some floor repairs in the kitchen.”

The Southwind remodel is just one of the many updates Heuy’s has made across its restaurants over the last year. In January 2016, the company unveiled a new patio at the Cordova location; in March, it made improvements to its Midtown restaurant; and in August, it fixed up its Downtown spot.

“Our brand is continuing to grow with the support of Memphis and the surrounding areas,” McHugh Robinson said. “We essentially want to keep our stores as efficient, clean and appealing as we possibly can, as well as [create] a pleasing environment for our hardworking staff.”

Huey’s was founded in 1970. Today, there are eight Huey’s restaurants across the greater Memphis area.
