With all the great things going on in the 901 these days, have you ever been overwhelmed with choices? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve put together a weekly post called The Weekender, filled with a handy schedule to help you hit some of our best bets for an amazing weekend. You can follow this schedule to a T, or use it as a launching point to plan your own adventure! The Weekender is not meant to be exhaustive, but will include our suggestions to help you plan the weekend ahead. 


Friday, June 10th

  • 11:30am – Start the weekend early with Food Truck Friday at the Dixon, Food Truck Friday at Fedex Forum, or the Germantown Charity Horse Show
  • 6pm – Enjoy music at Live at the Garden, Lafayette’s, or stop by Cocktails for a Cause on your way to this art show  or Say Hello to America
  • 7pm – Benefit Literacy Mid-South, spend the night watching local bands pay tribute at Memphis Does Prince: Benefit for St. Jude, go to the Redbirds game or see Mariachi Flor De Toloache at the Levitt Shell
  • 8pm – Watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Orpheum


Saturday, June 11th

  • 8am – Start your day at the Memphis Farmers Market downtown
  • 10:30am – Check out the Sisterhood Showcase, the 2016 FootGolf Summer Kick-off Classic, or go to theGrand Opening of 901 Comics
  • 12pm – Rally Against Fear
  • 2pm – Go to the Punk Rock Flea Market on your way to shop along Broad Ave
  • 5pm – Benefit a great cause at the 3rd Annual Brewville at DeNeuville
  • 6:35pm – Go to the Redbirds game (get a Yadi gnome, replica jersey, and enjoy fireworks afterwards)
  • 7pm – Catch the PRIZM International Chamber Music Festival Concert Series, go to Jammin’ for Deric Chapter 2, see the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies at Levitt Shell,  catch music at Otherlands, or enjoy comedy byThe Wiseguys
  • 9pm – Watch a really terrible movie for free at Black Lodge Shitfest
  • 10pm – Enjoy more live music at Young Avenue Deli, Bar DKDC, Bayou Bar & Grill, or The New Daisy


Sunday, June 12th

  • 11am – Enjoy a morning of yoga and booze at the Rec Room
  • 1pm – Check out Streetdog Day at the Brewery
  • 2pm – See Peter and the Starcatcher
  • 4pm – Take the whole family to see Back to the Future II in 3D at the Pink Palace Giant Theater
  • 6pm – Go to the Redbirds game or see Birds of Chicago at the Levitt Shell
