With all the great things going on in the 901 these days, have you ever been overwhelmed with choices? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve put together a weekly post called The Weekender, filled with a handy schedule to help you hit some of our best bets for an amazing weekend. You can follow this schedule to a T, or use it as a launching point to plan your own adventure!

Friday, June 24th

  • 9:30am – Join the Amerivespa Scooter National Rally for a full weekend of events
  • 12pm – Start the weekend early with Food Truck Friday at the Dixon, Food Truck Friday at Fedex Forum, and a little wine tasting before stopping by the Made by Memphis + Dilettante Collection Trunk Show
  • 6pm – Enjoy a free show at Shangri-La, get prepped for the Memphis Zombie Walk, join the Broad Avenue 5k, go to the Fusion: Works by the Memphis Heritage Trail Community exhibit, go drink for a good cause, enjoy live music at Loflin Yard, or enjoy South Main Trolley Night
  • 7pm – Watch Steep Canyon Rangers at the Levitt Shell, go to B-Movies and Beer at Memphis Made, watchWhen Harry Met Sally at the Halloran Centre, or go to the Talk/Shop creative workshop
  • 8pm – Experience Privileged Music Fest and check out this interactive light installation or see Deering & Down at the Galloway House 
  • 10:30pm – Catch more live music at Bar DKDC or Lafayette’s

Saturday June 25th

  • 8am – Start your day at the Memphis Farmers Market downtown or enjoy breakfast and volunteer with New Memphis
  • 10am – Take the family camping at Shelby Farms Park, to War on Wheels at the Memphis International Raceway, to the Black Arts Festival, learn how to do Resin Casting at the Metal Museum, or learn the fundamentals of hand-lettering
  • 1pm – Go on a Putt-Putt Pub Crawl
  • 5pm – BYOB and a chair to see a free show at Shangri-La, or see this unique exhibit at Crosstown Arts
  • 6pm – Go cheer on the Memphis Roller Derby or watch the Tamale documentary at Caritas
  • 6:35pm – Go see the Memphis Redbirds and enjoy the postgame fireworks (it’s Princess and Pirate Night!)
  • 7pm – Enjoy a free outdoor movie with the family, go to the Stax Music Academy Summer Grand Finale at the Levitt Shell (show up early to join the 80th Anniversary group photo), or go to the Memphis Football Club vs. Chattanooga game
  • 9pm – Catch more live music at Bar DKDC, the New Daisy, Canvas of Memphis, Young Avenue Deli, the HiTone, Otherlands, Loflin Yard

Sunday, June 26th

  • 7am – Take a Ride for Life
  • 10am – Chalk the Courtyard at Overton Square
  • 2pm – Go on a free walking tour with Jimmy Ogle
  • 4pm – Take the kids to see Back to the Future in 3D at the Pink Palace Giant Theater, go Celebrate Love & Justice at St. Mary’s, or watch Motel Mirrors at Loflin Yard
  • 6pm – Watch the Memphis Redbirds play against New Orleans
  • 8pm – Catch Gregg Allman Live at the Garden, the Amy Black Band at Lafayette’s or enjoy live music at Huey’s
