On Friday, November 11th, South Memphis teens will hit the streets, and they want you to join them! As part of the Big Jump Project, Revolutions Bicycle CoOperative, Bike/Ped Memphis, and The Works Inc. are proud to collaborate to empower Memphis youth to use bicycles as a viable means of transportation. Through community bike rides and more, Teen Ambassadors are learning to effectively use bike lanes, navigate through their communities to popular destinations, and advocate for connectivity and better bicycle facilities. The event will kick off in front of the South Memphis Farmers Market and then roll through the neighborhood highlighting nearby schools and businesses for about an hour. Skip the gym and join in! All rides are moderate in intensity, so you’ll still be able to chat. Bring you bike (and helmet of course) to the front of the South Memphis Farmers Market at 2pm to join the fun.
