So this year, Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis are aiming to remember King by boosting the number of projects, which begin Friday with a focus on youth and education and end Monday with a focus on cleaning up the community.
Last year volunteers worked on 72 projects throughout Memphis and Shelby County. This year they’re hoping to do 500 projects over 10 counties, said Andrea Hill, director of Volunteer Memphis.
And work on those projects will proceed regardless of the snowy weather, she said.
“We will have some indoor projects and some outdoor projects for those of you who are afraid of the snowflakes that will fall,” Hill said. “It’s not going to be that bad. …
