Volunteer Memphis is partnering with the National Civil Rights Museum and the United Way in organizing 5-hundred community service projects.
Organizers say it's a great way to give back to the community and all you have to do is sign up and show up.
"MLK Day weekend is a great day to have a day on instead of taking the day off on Monday take an opportunity to get out and serve your community," says Jared Bulluck of Leadership Memphis. "Help the needy, help your community to be a better place for Memphis."
Many of the projects will happen indoors at schools and local libraries.
