FedEx Institute of Technology Announced Partnership with Good Shepherd Pharmacy through Blockchain

The FedEx Institute of Technology announced its partnership with the pharmaceutical services company Good Shepherd Pharmacy to develop an infrastructure based on Blockchain. The goal is to help patients diagnosed with cancer obtain medication, especially people who do not have the money to buy the treatment.

For its part, Good Shepherd Pharmacy based in Memphis, recognizes that the block chain is an excellent way to carry out this project of “drug delivery”. The idea is that the treatment that has not been used by cancer patients can be delivered to economically disadvantaged patients who could not obtain them otherwise. Therefore, this technology allows to develop a safe and confidential way of distributing medical information.

The initiative that is still being studied by experts for its future launch, will be called Reclaiming Medicine (REMEDI) through which patients with fewer resources can obtain their anti-cancer medicines. According to reports, in Tennessee alone more than $ 10 million in medicines are lost because they are not used.
