Pumpkin spice whoopie pies at Muddy’s Bake Shop

Muddy’s Bake Shop wins the award for the most fun use of pumpkin pie spice — a whoopie pie.
To make this autumn-inspired sweet treat, the bakers at Muddy’s sandwich cinnamon brown sugar buttercream between two soft pumpkin-spiced cookies. “We sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar so it’s got a little extra zip,” owner Kat Gordon said.
The flavor of the pumpkin spice is perfectly balanced in these super moist cookies, just enough to satisfy your craving but not overpowering. Muddy’s also makes a killer pumpkin pie — they use Chinese five-spice to flavor that one — as well as a yummy pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Both of those will make a pumpkin spice lover happy, but it’s the whoopie pie that will have you going back for another one.
