Select dates through December 14, 2018: Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum

Grab some popcorn and a drink, and cheer on your favorite NBA team at the FedExForum this December on select nights. The Memphis Grizzlies play the Clippers on Wednesday, December 5; the Lakers on Saturday, December 8; the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, December 12; the Heat on Friday, December 14; and the Rockets on Saturday, December 15. Through December 23, 2018: A Christmas Carol at Theatre Memphis

Grab the family for this Memphis tradition, and enjoy A Christmas Carol at Theatre Memphis. The event will kick off on November 30 and run through December 23. Through December 28, 2018: Starry Nights at Shelby Farms Park

Presented by International Paper, Starry Nights is a family-friendly holiday experience with drive-through and walking trails of lights and displays. Hours run from Sunday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 per car, $50 per van and $150 per bus. Through December 30, 2018: Holiday Wonders at The Garden

Holiday Wonders at The Garden opens Friday, November 23, and runs on select nights through December 30 at the Memphis Botanic Garden. “Snowy Nights” is an outdoor, interactive and family-oriented venue. The “Trees Alight” light show extends to the tallest trees within the Gardens’ 96 acres and encircles you in 360 degrees of magic. And the “Under the Stars Outdoor Lounge” will feature snacks, hot chocolate, adult beverages and fire tables for warming. The City of Memphis Christmas Tree, as well as a spectacular nightly LED light show, is located in the Memphis Botanic Garden’s Conifer Garden and visible from Cherry Road. Through December 31, 2018: Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees

This annual event benefiting Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital runs all December long at the Pink Palace Museum. Fun for family members of all ages, this winter wonderland brings the holiday season to life with its cast of animated characters in a snowy “Enchanted Forest.” Witness elves at work and penguins at play, and enjoy a special visit with a very special pink-cheeked, red-suited guest. The event is Mondays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on “Enchanted Forest Fridays.” It’s closed on Christmas Day. December 1, 2018, through February 24, 2019: Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai’i at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art

This landmark exhibition at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art offers a rare focus on 20 of O’Keeffe’s depictions of Hawai‘i while on commission to produce images for a Hawaiian Pineapple Company promotional campaign. This event runs through February 24. Hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed every Monday and Tuesday. brooksmuseum.org

December 1, 2018: Memphis Holiday Parade on Beale Street

Join in the fun on America’s most iconic street as they ring in the holiday season with marching bands, steppers, twirlers and floats. This beloved Beale Street event begins at 4 p.m. on December 1, and it is free and open to the public. bealestreet.com

December 1, 2018: St. Jude Memphis Marathon

The St. Jude Memphis Marathon weekend is one the biggest events of the year in the Bluff City. The 5K and 10K start at 7 a.m., and the marathon and half-marathon start at 8 a.m. The kids’ marathon starts at 1:30 p.m. Registration fees vary and are selling out fast, so register now! And even if you don’t register to run, head out on December 1 to cheer and support.

December 2, 2018: Holiday Open House at the Metal Museum

Take a class, shop for unique, handmade gifts in the museum store and sip on hot chocolate or spiced cider as you warm up by the fire (weather permitting). The Metal Museum’s open house is free and open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 2. metalmuseum.org

December 2, 2018: Overton Square Tree Lighting

Overton Square will be filled with snow as they welcome Santa Claus back to midtown and light the Christmas tree in “Chimes Square.” It will be an evening of caroling by the Hutchinson choir, music by The Michael Brothers Band, hot chocolate and cookies. You can also stop by the Le Bonheur Holiday Ornament Market for gifts and take your picture with Santa. This free event will begin at 6 p.m. at Chimes Square in Overton Square. overtonsquare.com

December 5, 2018: Sip & Shop at Laurelwood Shopping Center

Benefitting Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Laurelwood Shopping Center’s Sip & Shop will be held on Wednesday, December 5, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come by and shop at your favorite stores and then stop by Libro at Laurelwood for some holiday cheer and drinks! laurelwoodmemphis.com

December 6, 8, 13 & 15 2018: Shopping with Santa Paws & Pictures with Santa at Shops of Saddle Creek

Head to Saddle Creek from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 6 and 13 for some Santa Paws shopping, valet parking and gift wrap for any items purchased. December 7-9, 2018: Ballet Memphis’ Nutcracker at the Orpheum Theatre

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra joins the Memphis Ballet at the Orpheum Theatre for this favorite holiday ballet. The Nutcracker takes us on a magical journey from Clara’s family Christmas party into a battle with the Mouse King, then into an enchanted land of sweets with her Nutcracker Prince. December 14 & 15, 2018: Holiday Concert Weekend at Graceland

On Friday, December 14, at 8 p.m., a live orchestra will play Elvis’ biggest Christmas hits with Elvis on the big screen, followed by two concerts on Saturday, December 15: an Elvis Gospel Christmas show at 5 p.m. and an Elvis Star-Studded Rock ‘n’ Roll show at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35. graceland.com

December 14 & 15, 2018: A Victorian Holiday Performed by Opera Memphis at Dixon Gallery and Gardens

Join Opera Memphis for an interactive evening of carols, magic, festive drinks and more. Opera Memphis’ singers will dress as men and women from the Victorian Era, mingling with the interactive audience members and entertaining them with games and dances. December 15, 2018: Memphis Maker Market

Memphis Maker Market is a shopping experience, a party and a celebration of our city all in one. Head down to Muddy’s Midtown outpost for a fun day of shopping local, with at least 75% of makers from Memphis and the rest from the Mid-South. December 15, 2018: Christmas in Soulsville

Get in the Christmas spirit by dancing to Booker T. & the MGs, and then make some holiday ornaments and gifts for the family at the STAX Museum. The event is from 10 a.m. to noon. It is free and open to the public. staxmuseum.com

December 22-23, 2018: Magic of Memphis Holiday Spectacular at Cannon Center

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra will be putting on a sparkling celebration of the holiday season. The orchestra, chorus and soloists will be joined by America’s premiere female illusionist Lyn Dillies. The Saturday show runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the Sunday show runs from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets start at $15. memphissymphony.org

December 31, 2018: The Party Life at Hilton Memphis

Hilton Memphis is presenting a New Year’s Eve experience with live entertainment, a balloon drop, hors d’oeuvres and a midnight champagne toast. The festivities will begin at 9 p.m. on December 31. Tickets start at $65. eventbrite.com

December 31, 2018: New Year’s Eve Spectacular: Pink Champagne!

Minglewood Hall will transform into a high-energy dance club on New Year’s Eve with a theme of “pop and sparkle of Pink Champagne” as well as a host of performances. Guests are encouraged to wear their best pink look. Tickets begin at $20 per person, including buffet appetizers and sparkling drinks at midnight. VIP tickets and tables are available starting at $60. The VIP Blue Room will offer unlimited champagne and appetizers until midnight.
