1. Levitt Shell

Topping the list is Levitt Shell. Located at 1928 Poplar Ave. in Midtown, the music venue and park is the highest-rated spot of its kind in Memphis, boasting five stars out of 56 reviews on Yelp.

During summer, the venue hosts a series of free outdoor concerts.

2. Lafayette's Music Room

Next up is Midtown's Lafayette's Music Room, situated at 2119 Madison Ave. With four stars out of 272 reviews on Yelp, the music venue, bar and New American spot has proved to be a local favorite.

On the menu, you'll find sweet corn jalapeño hush puppies, a grilled salmon salad and beet and black bean burger sliders to enjoy while you soak in the live music.

3. Flying Saucer Draught Emporium

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, located at 130 Peabody Place, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the music venue, beer bar and traditional American spot four stars out of 293 reviews.

Menu items include grilled bratwurst, a goat cheese salad and a turkey burger. It also has an extensive list of draft beer choices. 

4. Blues Hall

Blues Hall, a music venue and bar, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 29 Yelp reviews. Head over to 174 Beale St. to see for yourself.

The establishment's walls are decorated with historic photos from the W.C. Handy family and other blues memorabilia.

5. Minglewood Hall

Over in Midtown, check out Minglewood Hall, which has earned four stars out of 46 reviews on Yelp. You can find the music venue and venues and event space at 1555 Madison Ave.

According to its Facebook page, the establishment was voted the #1 place to see music in Memphis by the Memphis Flyer.
