In June, a new French bakery that specializes in this iconic pastry opened in Overton Square. 17 Berkshire can be found on the back side of the square, tucked away under the wrought-iron, second-floor balcony of the Chimes Square courtyard.
When you walk in the front door of 17 Berkshire, you have the feeling you have left Memphis and stepped into an elegant Parisian patisserie or café.
The space is gleaming white with elegant glass display cases for French-inspired sweet confections. The café tables are topped with marble and each decorated with a bud vase of fresh flowers. Gold accents complement the clean lines of the elegant space.
