Square’s Memphian Hotel may open in April

The latest projection for when Overton Square’s Memphian Hotel will open is “around April 1.”

That’s the estimate of LPI Memphis president Bob Loeb, who met late last week with the hotel’s general manager and sales manager.

Most of the façade appears to be completed for the seven-story building at 21 S. Cooper St.

On Tuesday morning, one construction worker for Montgomery Martin Contractors worked high in a lift bucket putting finishing touches to the four, top arched openings in front of the building.

Just above him, all but the “N” in the hotel’s name had been installed just below the roofline.

The 107-room, boutique hotel totaling 73,523 square feet will operate under the Marriott brand.

The Memphian Hotel will also offer a ground-floor restaurant and rooftop bar and dining.

Loeb is partners on the project with boutique hotel developer LRC2 Properties and hospitality management company MMI Hotel Group.
