Happy Holiday Weekend, Memphis! There may be less hugs and less people around the table this year for our Passover and Easter celebrations, but we have no less love for our city and for each other. I’m amazed at the way Memphians are giving back and helping out during this pandemic. (Example here, here, here)
Ways to show your love: Stay home. Don’t gather. The six-foot rule doesn’t mean to have a six-foot-apart party, it’s for essential outings like food and medicine. Even though it’s Easter, I beg you—please keep this social distancing thing going for the safety and health of all our neighbors in the Mid-South.
Wear masks, wash hands, stop going to stores every day and having block parties…and keep the quarantine fun going with some of the following fun ideas for this weekend in Memphis.

OK, here are the five things you won’t want to miss in Memphis this weekend, plus a few extras.
1. Crawfish
Quarantine Crawfish Fest 2020, Bayou Bar & Grill in Overton Square, Friday – Saturday, $20 per batch
Overton Square Crawfish Fest may not be happening this year, but you can still get your delicious fresh crawfish to-go from The Bayou this weekend on Friday the 10th from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. and on Saturday the 11th from noon to 6 p.m. Call at 11 a.m. each day to pre-order by phone. Batches are 1.5 pounds of crawfish, potatoes, corn, and andouille for $20. They also have cocktails and other drinks to go.
Max’s Sports Bar in South Main will also be selling fresh crawfish on Saturday, $10 per lb. with all the fixings. Pickup starting at noon and cocktails are available, too. Pre-order on the Facebook post.
Local Gastropub will have crawfish on Saturday and Sunday, $10 a box includes sausage, corn, and potatoes, plus they’ll have drinks for sale. Pre order at 901-219-1481. Pickup begins at 11 a.m.

2. Easter Takeout, Various Locations, All Weekend, Prices Vary, All AgesLocal restaurant are offering Easter feasts and family meals for takeout and delivery. Some are still accepting orders as of Friday. Scroll through the list and place your order. Don’t forget to tip our restaurant workers!
3. Cerrito Bingo: Virtual Edition, Facebook Live, Friday, 8 p.m. – 9 p.m., free to play, all ages
Kevin Cerrito is hosting a virtual bingo game on Friday night via FB live. You’ll need to make your own BINGO card (instructions here) and then tune in for Bingo fun and prizes from Memphis Made Brewing.
4. Virtual Yoga Series w/ the Memphis Public Library, Facebook / Zoom, Saturday, 2 p.m., free, all ages
The Central Library hosts a virtual yoga class each Saturday at 2 p.m. and Wednesday at 6 p.m. They post the Zoom link on the Facebook event page here.
5. ExtraLife 2020 Kickoff Livestream, The Internet, Saturday, 6 p.m. – midnight, 13+, donations strongly suggested
Nerd901 will livestream games and fun on Twitch this Saturday night while you donate to ExtraLife4Kids fund for children’s hospitals. From Nerd901: “Come join us over at http://twitch.tv/Nerd901 and please consider donating if you can!”

Virtual Zebra Lounge 2, Facebook Live 2, Friday, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., $10, all ages
Louise Page brings her Zebra Lounge piano bar set live to your living room with her lovely voice. Suggested donation is $10—$5 for Ms. Page and $5 for Zebra’s bartenders. Venmo accounts will be posted! More details here.
DontLetMeDownMem Concert, Facebook Live, Friday, 2 p.m., donations strongly encouraged
DontLetMeDown will livestream a concert from local artists Doll McCoy and Streeter & The Tribe, so get ready to cut a rug (in your living room). During the stream, donate to Slingshot Memphis. You can also see past concerts on their Facebook page.
Against The Grain Virtual Concerts, Online, Anytime You Want, $5 and up, all ages
Crosstown Arts launched “Against the Grain”, a website that lets you see lots of live concerts and intimate shows recorded by Memphis musicians and artists. Concert “tickets” start at $5, about the same as you’d pay for a show at a local venue. Check out the website and browse through videos from favorites like Grace Askew, Cory Branan, The Wealthy West, Nick Black, and more.
